OH LÀ LÀ CHÉRI Model and Brand Ambassador Lexi Eleni is the proud mother of son Jaxson. Ahead of Mother’s Day she shares her tips for homeschooling, her love of travelling and juggling life as a single Mom & model.

I have a 7-year-old son Jaxson who is the brightest most adorable star in my sky.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF

Born and raised in Hawaii, I’ve been modelling in the industry for around 10 years now. I grew up riding horses, that was my first love and truest passion. I have a 7-year-old son Jaxson who is the brightest most adorable star in my sky. I love travelling and showing Jaxson new places. One of my favorite things to do is documenting our moments through pictures and videos.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE MODELLING INDUSTRY, WAS THIS ALWAYS A DREAM OF YOURS?

My mom was actually a model when she was younger. I would look through her portfolio and hoped to have my own one day, but I didn’t read more into it. Then a photographer on a family photoshoot suggested I go into an agency. I did and was singed on the spot! It’s been a ride since then…

The most empowered I ever felt was the moment I became a mother.

WHEN YOU DO YOU FEEL YOUR MOST EMPOWERED AND BEAUTIFUL?

The most empowered I ever felt was the moment I became a mother. There is nothing more empowering to me then holding a human I created for the first time, a humbling experience. There’s not much more beautiful then that.

Watching how quick he’s grown really puts time into perspective. I don’t want to miss a thing

HOW HAS BEING A MOM CHANGED YOU?

Patience, I’ve become more patient since becoming a mother, especially being a single mom. Parenting no matter the situation requires patience, but motherhood & co-parenting has definitely given me a lesson in patience. But I wouldn’t have it any other way! I also value time way more than I did before. Watching how quickly he’s grown really puts time into perspective. I don’t want to miss a thing, I’m also more cautious of how and who I spend my time with.

HOW ARE YOU HANDLING QUARANTINE LIFE AS A MOM?

UGH, I’m trying. Homeschooling is the biggest change. Jaxson’s so social and active so not being able to play his sports or socialize at school is hard. I am keeping busy with him, we bake a lot, do a lot of fun experiments. I’ve definitely becoming more creative than usual, and I’m always welcome to new ideas!

I wish I felt the confidence I found in my 20’s when I was much younger, I would I’d have been unstoppable.

WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION?

Jaxson. Besides inspiring me to be the best version of myself, I don’t want him growing up in a world where beauty is defined by a size, and want him to feel confident in who he is. I wish I had the confidence I found in my late 20’s when I was much younger and less confident. If I would I’d have been unstoppable.

WE’RE ALL ABOUT PROMOTING SELF-LOVE. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUALITY ABOUT YOURSELF?

If I had to choose, I’d say my confidence is a favorite quality of mine. I think I may have taken it for granted in the past and assume everyone is able to have that confidence in themselves easily, over the years I’ve learned that’s not the case for many people which makes me want to keep doing what I’m doing.

Being from Hawaii I LOVE the water and raised Jaxson to feel the same, so anywhere with a beach we are happy.

FROM YOUR INSTAGRAM, YOU LOVE TO TRAVEL. WHERE WAS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE YOU’VE BEEN TO?

That’s hard! Being from Hawaii I LOVE the water and raised Jaxson to feel the same, so anywhere with a beach we are happy. There are so many places I have yet to take Jaxson to but I’d say the water in Turks and Caicos is pretty unbelievable. I’m hard to please (laughs) but this last trip in March was our second time there and the water, its so clear and beautiful.

YOU TOOK SOME AMAZING SHOTS THERE IN OUR NEW SWIM COLLECTION. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE OH LÀ LÀ CHÉRI CHERI SWIMSUIT OF THE TRIP AND WHY?

The Lagos Plunge One Piece Swimsuit with wrap around snakeskin print! I LOVED THAT. I love a good one piece; it hugs in all the right places and is also supports me up top which is hard for me personally to find.
