05 . 08 . 2020

OH LÀ LÀ CHÉRI Model and Brand Ambassador Priscilla Huggins talks body positivity, what she loves about lingerie, and the power of self love.

CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?

I am originally from Puerto Rico and I now live in Los Angeles, California. I am on the curve board for Wilhelmina NYC and LA and my mother agency is Next Miami. I am 26 years old I am a passionate loving Scorpio woman who loves life and loves to enjoy the little moments.

I was scouted back home in Puerto Rico by an agency in Miami and that’s when my real career started.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE MODELING INDUSTRY, WAS THIS ALWAYS A DREAM OF YOURS?

I have always loved it, getting to express myself through photos fashion and art. I’ve been doing it since I was a little girl. I think my first photoshoot I was about 1 years old, I was scouted back home in Puerto Rico by an agency in Miami and that’s when my real career started.

HOW DO YOU START EACH MORNING, AND END EVERY DAY?

I start my day by making a cup of coffee, followed by going for a run and then a workout at our home gym.

WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION?

Adriana Lima must be my biggest inspiration. She is the best model in the world in my eyes and people say I look like her, which is a huge compliment. I admire her drive and success and she inspires me to become the best I can be.

You guys make me feel super feminine and powerful. Your lingerie is so classy and sexy at the same time, and it really accentuates my curves.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING WITH OUR BRAND?

You guys make me feel super feminine and powerful. Your lingerie is so classy and sexy at the same time, and it really accentuates my curves.

WE’RE ALL ABOUT PROMOTING SELF-LOVE. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUALITY ABOUT YOURSELF?

I love my big hips, I used to be so insecure about them because I thought they were way too big and didn’t feel beautiful. I would lose weight in very unhealthy ways or exercise excessively and the hips still wouldn’t go down because they are literally bone. I used to be so insecure about them because I thought they were way too big. I didn’t feel beautiful and I would say it was because of the modeling industry before.

I can finally be myself with big hips and all is welcomed and loved.

YOU’RE A MODEL WHO REPRESENTS A MUCH-NEEDED SHIFT IN DIVERSITY IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY TODAY. FROM AN INSIDER’S PERSPECTIVE, DO YOU SEE THE MODELING WORLD CHANGING?

I would say the modeling industry before was very different, being a curve model wasn’t even a thing. I would be too big for most clients and not fit into the samples they had. I’ve been sent home from shoots which was very frustrating as a young girl. I would be caught in between; not a plus size model and not a straight size model either. I would be completely heartbroken constantly and went through depression and unhealthy habits like starving myself. Thankfully, the industry has changed for the better with body positivity and diversity. Now I can finally be myself with big hips and all is welcomed and loved. How it should be, because everybody is beautiful in their own way, everyone is different.

WHEN YOU DO YOU FEEL YOUR MOST EMPOWERED AND BEAUTIFUL?

When I’m in front of the camera or in lingerie having sexy time with my man.

HOW ARE YOU GETTING THROUGH LIFE IN QUARANTINE?

The days have been long, and I really miss work. But I am remaining positive throughout this experience and trying to stay productive and creative as much as possible knowing that this will soon pass.

Love yourself, have motivation and goals and keep working hard towards them without ever giving up. And don’t take life too seriously.

CAN YOU GIVE US THREE TIPS FOR GETTING AHEAD?

Love yourself, have motivation and goals and keep working hard towards them without ever giving up. And don’t take life too seriously.
